A man with a rich and varied background in the world of radio and music. Back in the early 60s, Sonny started his career as an intern at WMEX and WCOP, two prominent radio stations in the Boston market. He was eager to learn, and those early days undoubtedly shaped his passion for the industry.
After completing his education at Columbia Broadcasting School and the University of Maryland, Sonny joined the U.S. Army, where he was assigned to work as an on-air personality for Armed Forces and Radio and Television Service. It was an experience that taught him the value of clear communication and the power of music to bring people together.
In addition to his work in radio, Sonny has also been an active member of the music community for many years. He organized and ran the Leominster Summer Concert series for five years, a testament to his dedication to bringing joy to people’s lives through music. He was the founding member and manager of the “Golden Road Band,” a local group that has been entertaining audiences for years.
Sonny is also a former member of the well-known band “The Western Starliters,” and his guitar playing has graced many a stage over the years. He has even had the opportunity to open for national artists like Charlie Pride and Dottie West. But despite his success, Sonny remains humble and grounded, always grateful for the opportunities he has had to share his love of music with others.
When he’s not working, Sonny enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing his hobbies. He may be a man of many talents, but at his core, Sonny is just a regular guy who loves music and wants to share that love with the world.
